  1. Slippery Slope- The arguer claims that a sort of chain reaction, usually ending in some dire consenquence will take place, but there's really not enough evidence to support the conclusion. Example: "If you smoke weed the result is you will be dumber then someone that does not smoke weed"

  2. Hasty Generalization- To make assumptions about a whole group or range of case on a sample that is inadequate.Example: A person with blond hair is assumed to be "dumb" or Someone that wears glasses is a "smart" which is not always true.

  3. straw man- the arguer makes a weak case against himself and over powers the weak case to try to eliminate his opposition as quickly as possible for instance like if i argue with justin about gun control and i say to take away guns and i say well people need guns and i give the answer that no one needs guns, guns are bad and they create turmoil and nothing good can come out of it and i try to end the conversation right there and not give him a chance to defend himself thats straw man

  4. Appeal to Pity: The Appeal to Pity takes place when an arguer tries to get people to accept a conclusion by making them feel sorry for someone. Example: I worked till 10:30 last night and when I got home I was to tired to do my homework so I went straight to bed. So I wouldn't be tired and fall asleep in all my classes.

  5. Appeal to Authority-an argument from the fact that a person judged to be an authority affirms a proposition to the claim that the proposition is true

example(s)- the girls on teen mom make having kids look easy so i should go out and get pregnant. Most influence now a days so teenagers think what they see on tv isnt real or true or easy so they do it anyways.
